Here are the instructions provided by other NEOPET users :

1. After you have created your buttons, you need a webhost. Go to http://www.freewebspace.net for a whole list of free webhosts.

2. When you have got yourself a webhost, upload the flash file into your webspace.

3. Now copy and paste this code into your guild/shop:

haha neopets ^_~. I may not be that great of help, but here ya are: it depends on where you try to use the flash. They don't even let you use javascript in the shops so i doubt you can use flash. They do however, let you use it in guilds. In the guild, the scripts are pretty much the same as a regular html page. In fact, that's where I saw the flashbuttons first, in a guild :). anywayz, i hope that helped.

Here is a tutorial written by another user for the TRELLIX installation :

1. Create the Nav Bar and download the file to your computer.

2. Copy the HTML from the bottom of the page after you create the bar, and paste it into a notepad file.

3. Go here and follow instructions to rename the .swf files in the HTML code you just pasted. http://www.menkisweb.com/cgi-bin/flashbuttons/forum.cgi?board=15 3&action=display&num=1010831564 *Save this, because if you want to install it in multiple places it will make it easier.

4. Go to your website manager (Tripod, Angelfire, etc.), and go to File Manager.

5. Upload the file to your provider (there will be an option there). Make sure the name when you upload saves as xxxxxxx.swf

6. Open Trellix and go to wherever you want to place the NavBar.

7. Click the Web Gems button, and select "Build Your Own Web Gems." Click choose.

8. Paste the HTML code from the Notepad file where the code is supposed to be.

9. Select insert.

UPLOAD THE TOOLBAR:

Go to Keyword: My FTP
Click: See My FTP Space
Click: Upload
Enter the file name that is stored on your computer for the Flash file
Select "Binary (programs & graphics)"
Click: "Continue"
Two Choices will appear: Click "Select File" and locate the Flash file on your hard drive. Then, click "Send."

FIND YOUR FLASH HTML

Once file has been sent to AOL FTP server, return to your AOL ftp directory.
Click on the name of your Flash file.
Click on "View File Now."

Locate the URL of AOL page where you loaded the Flash file (example: http://members.aol.com/YOURSCREENNAME)

Right click mouse on Flash image to obtain URL of image to "View Source" to determine URL of image. (example: "http://members.aol.com/YOURSCREENNAME/Corporateflash.swf")

Insert URL in Flashbutton html code.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT FRONT PAGE:
Maybe extra HTML tags are appearing instead of your menu. Try this: Copy the HTML code from FlashButtons.com and paste it into Notepad. Then, take the code that you pasted into Notepad and copy that into FrontPage. That might solve your problem. If you see FrontPage appropriately color-code the code into usable sections, the code should work.

1. Download the navbar file to your computer.

2. Move the navbar file to the same folder ( or directory ) where is the webpage .html file you want to put the buttons on.

3. Copy and paste the following HTML tag into your web page HTML source code :

You may have to rename your navbar file to the file name ( case sensitive ) that appears above in yellow.

Instructions for the Free Menu Generator ( Flash 4 ) :

The HTML you need to install a menu is provided by the generator, at the bottom of the menu generation result page. Basically it's almost the same HTML for all the navbars. You can copy and paste the following HTML. This HTML tag is the one used to display a Flash movie :

But make sure to adjust the yellow parts of it. There are 3 parameters you can customize in this HTML :

- The menu location, which may look something like this :
Absolute location : http://www.mywebsite.com/ima/navbar.swf
OR
Relative location : ima/navbar.swf

- The menu WIDTH parameter.
- The menu HEIGHT parameter.

Instructions for the Generator ( Flash 5 ) :

You can access your HTML either at the end of the generation process or directly from the .swf menu file. To get your HTML from your .swf menu file follow these steps :

1. Open your menu. You can open your navbar for viewing with your Flash player ( if installed ) or with your browser.
2. Press SHIFT-H. Once your menu is opened, press SHIFT-H. This will generate a small text area with your HTML in it. Your flash movie window must be the active one.
3. Copy HTML. To copy the settings, right-click in the generated text area, and choose " Select All ". Right-click again and choose " Copy ".
4. You can now paste your HTML where you need it.

You can open your navbar for viewing with your Flash player ( if installed ) or with your browser. In both case you will not be able to edit your navbar. To modify or create a navbar you must use the navbar generator.

This is because the WIDTH and HEIGHT values in your HTML tag are not correct. Try to play with the WIDTH and HEIGHT values in your HTML tag. You will find that you can resize the entire navbar just by changing the values of these parameters.

The navbar comes up as a white empty space when the browser is unable to locate it. You must adjust your HTML so your browser can know where the navbar is. The best way to locate a navbar is with the navbar's URL ( or Internet address ). Your web page has an address so does your navbar. A URL should look like this :

http://www.Your_Domain_Name.com/Navbar_File_Name.swf

or http://www.Your_Domain_Name.com/A_Folder_Name/Navbar_File_Name.swf

Upload your navbar to your web hosting space and try to determine what is the URL ( or Internet address ) of your navbar. To test if you have the right URL, simply open it in your browser. If the navbar appears you've got it! Once you have your navbar's URL, you need to put it in your HTML at two places ( look for ****YOUR_NAVBAR_URL**** ) :

Beware the URLs are case sensitive so if your navbar's name is "Controls.swf" make sure to keep the capital C.

If you look carefully at the HTML tag, you will see there is an OBJECT and a EMBED section. The OBJECT one is for Internet Explorer, the EMBED one is for Netscape. Make sure the EMBED part of your HTML tag is well configured.

First you must find what is your target frame name. The target frame is the frame where you want the pages to open. Beware, a file name like "main.html" is NOT a target frame name.

You can find the target frame name in the HTML code of the file that creates your frames. Usually it's in the index.html page. For example, in the following HTML :

<FRAME SRC="filename.htm" NAME="contents">
In this case contents is the name of the created frame.

Once you have your target frame name, enter it in the "Target Frame Name" text field of the generator, and generate a new navbar. All buttons in the generated navbar should open the pages in your frame.

If the pages open in a new window instead of in your frame, it's because the navbar is trying to reach a Target Frame Name that doesn't exist. Try to find your correct Target Frame Name and generate a new navbar.

Instructions for the Free Menu Generator ( Flash 4 ) :

If you wish to assign a different target frame to each button, enter all your target frame names separated by a comma in the "Target Frame Name" text field of the generator form. The first target will be assigned to the first button, the second one to the second button, etc. You must enter the same number of targets and buttons.

For example if you have a 5 buttons menu, you can enter something like :

Standard HTML targets are also accepted :

_blank	Always load this link into a new, unnamed window.
_self	Always load this link over the document that originated the link.
_parent	Always load this link over the parent frame. (becomes self if the frame has no parent, or is the parent frame).
_top	Always load this link at the top level. (becomes self if the frame is the top frame).

Instructions for the Flash 5 Generator :

If you are using the Flash 5 Generator you can easely assign target to each button by filling the appropriate text field. Just like with the Text Labels and Links. But here are some hints about using targets with the Flash 5 generator :

- If no target is entered the default one will be "_self".
- You can rapidly assign the same target to all the buttons by entering only the first one.
- If a target is missing, the generator will automatically take the one entered for the first button.

Yes and here is how to do it :
With a transparent background, your navbar will fit perfectly on any web page background color or texture. This is a highly recommended feature to use. To make a Flash movie transparent simply add the two WMODE parameters to your HTML tag ( in yellow ) :

If you wish to link to an anchor position inside a page, you must add your anchor name to your webpage link. For example if your web page link is : index.html, and the anchor name within this page is: help

You can generate free button navbars without subscribing by using the Free Flash 4 generator. Just click on one of the buttons at the bottom of the FlashButtons.com home page.

The only way to modify a navbar is to generate a new one with the FlashButtons.com generator. I suggest you to keep your Text and URLs in a simple text file, so each time you want to generate a new navbar you will just have to cut and paste the data from your text file into the generator form.

The best place to learn Flash is at http://www.flashkit.com. You can also post questions on the message board. Try the open sources, it's the best way I know to learn Flash.

Custom design service is not available anymore.

The buttons made from the generator cannot be edited in the Macromedia Flash editor. If you want to edit the buttons in Flash you need the FLA sources files. The FLA source files are not available.

If you have difficulties downloading the buttons, you should try the "Send your navbar directly to your mailbox" feature, this way you will get your navbar directly to your mailbox.

Also if you are using pop-up-cop to stop pop-ups. This feature must be disabled to download the buttons.
