Setup Your Flash Menu On Geocities Using Yahoo Page
Builder
|
1. First
login to your Yahoo,Geocities account
then click the Yahoo
Page Builder link. |
|
2. Now
click Run
Page Builder. Note: You
must have javascript installed and enabled
to run Page Builder. |
|
3. Once
page builder has loaded click file. |
|
4. Then
select upload
files from the menu. |
|
5. Now
either type the location of the flash
file on your harddrive E.G C:/windows/desktop/yourflash.swf
or click the browse button and locate
the file from there. Casing does matter
E.G YOURFLASH.swf
is different to yourflash.swf |
|
6. Once
you have found the location of your flash file
click UPLOAD.Now
after this you may need to find the full address
of your flash navbar E.G
if your site address was www.geocities.com/mysite/
then your flash navbars address would be www.geocities.com/mysite/myflash.swf
If the flash is in the same folder as the HTML
document using it you dont usually need the
full address just the file name E.G
myflash.swf |
|
7. Now
that you have your flash file uploaded you need
to insert the code flashbuttons.com gave you
so click INSERT. |
|
8. Then
click Form And
Scripts. Then
click HTML code. |
|
9. Now
make a title for your flash navigation
code I usually call mine something like
Flash Navigation. |
|
10. Now
PASTE
the code flashbuttons.com gave you for your
button in the code box. At this point you may
wish/need to edit the code given to you by flashbuttons.com
lets say the code given was
<EMBED SRC="Your
Flash Button Location/yourflash.swf"
WIDTH="114" HEIGHT="157">
<NOEMBED>Get Flash !</NOEMBED>
</EMBED>
You may need to edit the flash buttons location
to the location you found your flash to be at
in stage 6. You
may also need to edit Height and Width. |
|
11. Now
click OK. |
|
12. Now
you want to POSITION
the flash on your page so move the object around
to suit your needs. |
|
13. I usually position mine down the
LEFT CORNER becuase that is
usually where most navigations go (but it is
up to you where to put yours). |
